The Super Payments API uses API keys to authenticate requests. All API requests must be made over HTTPS - calls made over plain HTTP will fail, as will requests without a valid API key.
You can view and manage your API keys in the Business Portal under Developers → API Keys.
API Keys
Super Payments uses two types of API key:
- Super key (
sk_prod_/sk_test_) : used for server-side API requests. Keep these secure and never expose them in public repositories, client-side code, or anywhere else publicly accessible. Shown in the Business Portal under Super Keys. - Publishable key (
PUB_) : safe to use in client-side and front-end code. Shown in the Business Portal under Publishable API Keys.
Keys are issued per API version. Use the API version selector on the API Keys page to see the keys for the version you are integrating against.
Authentication
Pass your Super key in the Authorization header of every request:
curl --location 'https://api.superpayments.com/2026-04-01/payments' \
--header 'Authorization: sk_prod_YOUR_SECRET_KEY' \
--header 'Content-Type: application/json'For test environment requests, use your sk_test_ key and the test base URL:
curl --location 'https://api.test.superpayments.com/2026-04-01/payments' \
--header 'Authorization: sk_test_YOUR_SECRET_KEY' \
--header 'Content-Type: application/json'Creating API Keys
- Log in to the Business Portal and select Developers in the sidebar.
- Open the API Keys tab.
- Choose the version you are integrating against from the API version selector.
- Next to Super Keys, select Show.
- Select Add Super Key and store the new key securely.
Your publishable key is listed under Publishable API Keys - select Show to reveal it, then use the copy button. There is a single publishable key per API version, so there is nothing to create.
NoteIf you are using API version
v2025-06-01or later, API keys are managed per API version. If you have existing keys from an earlier version, you will need to generate new ones for the version you are moving to.
Payment Initiator IDs
To create payments via the API you will need a payment initiator ID, which is passed in the request body alongside your other required fields.
To find your payment initiator ID:
- Log in to the Business Portal and select Developers in the sidebar.
- Open the API Keys tab and scroll to Brand payment initiators and IDs.
- Select Show next to the brand you want, then copy the ID listed under Payment initiator ID.
A payment initiator ID is listed for each integration on the brand, shown beneath the integration's website URL. If no ID is listed, create a custom integration first under Developers → Integrations.
Your Brand ID is shown in the same panel, above the payment initiator IDs.
NoteFor API versions
2025-06-01and newer, only custom integration payment initiator IDs are displayed here. Other integrations are managed by our plugins.
